About the Host

I’ve spent my career telling stories that matter. As a journalist, communications director for a governor and a U.S. senator, and most recently as an advocate for Maine’s commercial fishing communities and lobstermen, I’ve seen firsthand how the right story—told with honesty, clarity, and purpose—can change minds and inspire action.

Story Café grew from two lifelong passions: reading great books and understanding the writers who create them. I’ve always been fascinated by the creative process behind every novel—what inspires an author, what keeps them writing, and why certain stories simply must be told.

That curiosity eventually led me to pursue a dream of my own. After years of thinking about writing a novel, I completed my first manuscript and am now navigating the publishing process—querying literary agents, learning the publishing industry, and working toward becoming a traditionally published author.

Story Café is where those two journeys come together.

Each podcast episode features in-depth author interviews exploring the books they had to write, the inspiration behind their stories, the realities of writing, and the path to publication. Whether the guest is a bestselling novelist or a debut author, every conversation offers an honest look at storytelling, creativity, and the writing life.

Along the way, I also share my own experiences as a first-time novelist—from finishing a manuscript and searching for literary representation to celebrating milestones, overcoming setbacks, and learning what it really takes to get published.
